Progress in eye care is continual and it is good that we can provide better services to our patients than ever before. It can be daunting though if you’ve taken some time off to spend with your family, a career break, a change in working environment or just not worked with certain groups of patients or techniques. Nowadays help is at hand with CET and lectures but wouldn’t it be great just to get hands-on training in an environment that is friendly and supportive to your needs? It would be even better if it was delivered by peers just like you that have returned to work after raising children or returned to work after living abroad for a while – people you can really identify with. This course is designed just for that, getting you back to work confident and refreshed and delivered by people like you for you.
This innovative two-day course will:
• lead you through a series of peer-to-peer discussions sharing best practice with fellow Eye Care Practitioners and tutors that have been through career breaks themselves
• present novel practical sessions designed to help you to be more confident in effective professional recommendation to your patients
• update you on advances in contact lens technology
• provide hands-on workshops that will help you refresh your skills in slit lamp techniques and fitting soft contact lenses
• provide hands-on workshops to help you communicate effectively with your patients
• get hands-on experience in performing indirect ophthalmoscopy and Goldmann tonometry
• catch-up with regulations and legal matters that affect you as an Eye Care Practitioner
• help you develop strategies to continue to improve your confidence
• provide you with the skills to deliver patient satisfaction
This hands-on course takes place at the state-of-art facilities of THE VISION CARE INSTITUTE® using inter-room High Definition (HD) video technology, interactive electronic voting, HD video slit lamps and many innovative teaching materials. Parts of day-two of the course will be tailored according to the individual delegate’s needs.
